2018-2019 Atom - Perfect in the Falls!
Submitted By Darren Nesbitt on Sunday, November 11, 2018

The Atoms travelled to Niagara Falls and went a perfect 6-0 to take their second straight tournament championship. The team started off against the Grey Bruce Highlanders and took a convincing 8-3 win.

Next up was a pesky Quinte Red Devils team that gave the Toros all they could handle. The team scored late to win 2-1.

Saturday saw the team blow past the Toronto Titans 9-1 and the Buffalo Regals 8-1, placing them into the semifinals on Sunday morning.

In the semis the team played their most complete game of the tournament in defeating the Kingston Frontenacs 5-0.

In the finals the team was matched up with a very good York Simcoe Express team. The team played a hard, gritty game coming out with a 3-1 win.

The team was led by some terrific goaltending by both Caleb Wilson and Ethan Gilbert (7 goals against in 6 games).

Helping out the goalie duo with strong performances was a solid defensive corps including Jack Carley, Ethan Sikma, Liam Hackett, Oliver Gaglietta, Jory Sawyer and Tanner Nettleton.

The high powered offense (35 goals in 6 games) was led by Kayden Brand, Matt Souter, Evan Hay, Logan McMurray, Walker Doyle, Trace Whitlock, Jonah Gareau, Tate Ryan and Owen Bayes.
