Pre-Skate & Tryout Registration

The CZHA is happy to announce the start of the 2021 – 22 season.  The Tryouts for this season will begin September 10th and end September 19th location and times can be found on the website calendar. 
This year the OMHA has added a Prep Phase that will start September 8th location and times for all ages can be found on our website calendar.  

Covid-19 protocol will be followed during the entire length of the Prep and tryout times.  We are allowed a maximum or 40 skaters a session with only 50% capacity for spectators allowed in the building.

Prep Phase

The prep skates are open to Clarington Zone eligible players only and beginning September 8th times and dates can be found on the calendar.   The Skates will be drill orientated to allow players to get their legs back under them and to prep them for tryouts that start September 10th.   There is no pre-registration for these skates, but they will be limited to 40 skaters a session at a cost of $20.00 per skate.  Cash only and money is to be paid to the front table before your player steps on the ice.  Any players coming from Orono, Newcastle must bring a Permission-to-Skate (PTS) form issued by your home center. 


Tryouts will begin September 10th see website calendar for your appropriate time and location.  For Bowmanville/Courtice residents please make sure you Register on the CMHA website and pay only the $20.00 registration fee.  You will be able to log back on to the HCR website to purchase the CMHA Passport if your player is released from their CZHA Team.  Players from outside of the CZHA zone wishing to attend tryouts please make sure you have your PTS forms and E-waivers if required from your appropriate centers.   Players without PTS forms or E-Waiver will not be allowed to participate in the tryouts at that time.   All tryouts will cost $20.00 a skate cash only please and it will be collected at the registration desk.

Import Players/Waivers

All CZHA teams Will be accepting import players 

        U10-U13 – Must provide your PTS and show the email(s) of the waivers from the appropriate centers

       U14-U18 – must have PTS only no release/waiver required. 

Waiver Process ·   

      U10-U13 – player seeking a waiver to play in a different zone must Register with home center, attend first tryout and be released by their Coach in order to obtain a waiver.

        U14 – U18 Players no longer need a release to tryout for other teams.  You will still need a PTS form these can be acquired by contacting Steve Troughton [email protected] include players name and DOB.
