Community Development
Submitted By CZHA on Saturday, May 22, 2021
The Municipality of Clarington is competing in ParticipACTION’s Community Better Challenge from June 1 to June 30, 2021, a national physical activity contest that encourages Canadians to get active and compete to win a grand prize of $100,000 for their municipality to support local physical activity initiatives. We need your help to inspire Clarington residents to get involved and prove that we are the most active community in Canada.

We are asking our Community Partners to help in two ways.

  1. Ask your members to track their active minutes throughout June by downloading the app at theGoogle Play Storefor Android or theApp Storefor iOS orcreating an online accountbeginning June 1.
  2. Help inspire others to get involved by posting messages and videos on your social media accounts. Engage with us onFacebookorTwitterby using the hashtag#ClaringtonMovesFor100K. Make your posts instructional, encouraging or challenge each other to track the most active minutes. Be creative. We will share some of your messages on our Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Remember to practice physical distancing, wear a mask and follow public health guidelines related to COVID-19 while being active.

For more information on Clarington’s efforts to be the most active community in Canada, follow us on social media or subscribe to the community calendar to stay up-to-date on virtual events.
