The CZHA is happy to announce the start of the 2023– 2024 season. Times for both the Pre-Skates and player evaluations can be found on our website under their respective tabs. The Clarington Zone encompasses the towns located within the boundaries of the Municipality of Clarington.
CZHA eligible players residing within the towns of Courtice, Bowmanville, Orono and Newcastle can all attend the prep skates and player evaluations. Prior to attending Player Evaluations, all CZHA eligible players must do the following:

·Register with players Home Centre.
·When registering please make sure you update any old emails as this is our primary method fo communication for the release process
·Orono /Newcastle Players must bring hard copy of PTS forms for Player Evaluations only.
Prep Skates
These are optional skates which give players an opportunity to be on the ice prior to the spring player evaluations. Prep skates are open to all CZHA eligible members and players who played in the organization last season. Each session is one hour in length and at a cost of $30 per session (cash only). No evaluations will take place at the time and all sessions will be run by professionals. There is no pre-registration and spots are limited.
Player Evaluations
Orono and Newcastle players will need to bring a photocopy of your PTS forms to attend the player evaluations. All players must register with their home center prior to attending player evaluations. Returning import players on waivers may simply show up with their waiver at the scheduled player evaluation skate time. The cost per skate will be $30.00 (cash only). Players who are unsuccessful during the player evaluations will receive an email notification. Players who do no not receive an email are expected to return to the next scheduled player evaluation. All players will have at least 3 on-ice Player Evaluations prior to being released.
Import Players
Players released from their home centers wishing to attend player evaluations in Clarington must bring a photocopy of your PTS form and E-waiver with you. Players without a PTS form or E-Waiver will not be allowed to participate in the evaluations at that time. CZHA import players who received their waivers at the U10 and U12 ages can return to tryout for our U11 and U13 teams. Pre-registration is not required. CZHA imports at the U14 – U16 age groups last season have the option to either attend CZHA Player Evaluations or return to their home Center. Please contact the coach before you come to the player evaluations as they may be on the road for an exhibition game. All the coach’s information can be found under the Fall Tryout tab on our website or found below. All evaluations will cost $30.00 a skate (cash only) and it will be collected at the registration table.
Waiver Process
· U10-U16 – CZHA eligible players seeking a waiver to play in a different zone must be Registered with their home centre, attend at least three (3) on-ice Player Evaluations prior to being released by the Coach. Emails will be sent to released players shortly after each skate with instructions on how to obtain your waiver. Players who do not receive an email are expected to return to the next scheduled evaluation.
· Any players wishing to tryout for JR Clubs will require a JR PTS form please email [email protected]. Include players name, DOB and last team the player played for.
